Red Collar | Pianos, NYC | 7.15.2009

Red Collar played the L.E.S. the other night. I’ve never seen them live and was pretty eager to check ‘em out, especially since their record Pilgrim has kept a pretty steady spot in the rotation since its release. So after checking out the new digs over at Brooklyn Bowl I rolled down to Piano’s for a set of blue collar rock played by a bunch of North Carolina punks. Read the rest of this entry »
When You Get A Chance, Go Check Out Brooklyn Bowl

There’s a new venue in Brooklyn where people can bar it up, bowl, and even catch a live show at the same time. The Brooklyn Bowl is a pretty awesome new venue and I highly suggest you make the trek there and check the place out, it’s right next to the Brooklyn Brewery. Digital Photography School
Since I don’t know everything about photography (hell I’d say I downright don’t know anything), I often find myself browsing the ‘net reading posts for tips and information about how to get a better picture and/or how to fix my screw-ups with Photoshop. I’ve found myself reading a lot of posts on Digital Photography School. They have a tremendous archive of posts and tips written by a variety of contributors. They also include post production tips and even equipment reviews. It’s pretty one-stop shopping for all your questions. Bookmark the site, I do.
New Jersey…Making A Scene

About two years ago I was asked by a friend of mine who runs the Chicago-based music site Heave Media to do a write up of the Jersey scene. Since New Jersey is such a damn big state and there’s no way that it can all be covered in one quick blog post, I limited it just a few choice joints to check out while in the state. I just came across the write-up again so I figured I’d share, you can read the entire write up here.
