Arctic Monkeys | All Points West 2009

The Arctic Monkeys set was the point in the day where the crowds started to show for the night. I hadn’t seen the band live in a long time and was looking forward to hearing some new songs since their new album is coming out soon. For some reason, the people in charge of the fog machines took their job extremely seriously. Because there were points of the band’s set where you literally could not see the band because there was so much smoke on the stage. Read the rest of this entry »
White Rabbits | All Points West 2009

White Rabbits were one of the first bands on the main stage that day. I really like their album a lot but they weren’t the most kinetic band of the weekend. He was okay and the band put on a perfectly awesome set. Read the rest of this entry »
Red Collar | Pianos, NYC | 7.15.2009

Red Collar played the L.E.S. the other night. I’ve never seen them live and was pretty eager to check ‘em out, especially since their record Pilgrim has kept a pretty steady spot in the rotation since its release. So after checking out the new digs over at Brooklyn Bowl I rolled down to Piano’s for a set of blue collar rock played by a bunch of North Carolina punks. Read the rest of this entry »
Future Of The Left | Maxwell’s, NJ | 7.13.2009

I was looking forward to this show for a while. Future Of The Left is the new project from Andy Falco and Jack Egglestone, 2/3 of the defunct band Mclusky, who if you ask anyone are pretty much one of the most awesome bands of the last 10 years and their album Do Dallas still pretty much shreds anything that’s been released since.
